How hard could it be to port to linux as well? Zyxel security appliances will push VPN client and launch auto-installation while user logs in web-based authentication portal. For Windows users, SecuExtender is free from pre-installation of a fat VPN client. So essentially there's a surcharge to use functionality which has already been paid for.Īlso, it's really unfortunate that SSL VPN connectivity won't be possible unless on OSX/WIN platform. SecuExtender, the Zyxel SSL VPN technology, works on both Windows and Mac operating systems. That said, Zyxel charges ~$50 for the SecuExtender client - but advertises their various products as SSL VPN ready with no mention of client software being required. I actually am less inclined to hack at anything knowing now that SecuExtender is simply a Viscosity mod. For the time being Viscosity and the ZyXEL SecuExtender Mac client should be able to be installed on the same machine without a problem. We may be able to add support to Viscosity down the line when we take it multi-protocol, but I'm afraid I really don't know at this stage. ZyXEL's SSL implementation does not use or involve OpenVPN at all. If your plan is to try and hack at Viscosity to enable support ZyXEL SSL support I'm afraid it won't work.
